This elegant summer Hakata obi by Nishimura Orimono features a beautiful sheer texture and a refined contrast of white and soft gray.

Lightweight, breathable, and exceptionally comfortable to tie, it is ideal from the single-layer kimono season (May–June, September) through the height of summer.

Woven using Hakata-ori’s signature technique of tightly packed weft threads, this obi offers a secure fit that stays comfortably in place throughout the day.

Its airy texture is created using Mojiri-ori (open-weave), in which the warp threads are twisted as they are woven, producing a delicate transparency with a crisp, refreshing feel.

The traditional Kenjō pattern is one of Hakata weaving’s most iconic designs, originating from textiles presented by the Fukuoka Domain to the Edo Shogunate during the Edo period.

Perfect for styling with fine summer yukata, lightweight komon, summer tsumugi, and other casual kimono, this obi adds an elegant touch while keeping your summer wardrobe cool and comfortable.
