This bolt of silk is woven with delicate silver threads and dyed in a pale grey known as Haihaku (ash white)—a tone very close to white, carrying both clarity and understated elegance.

The natural sheen of silk, together with the subtle sparkle of silver threads, creates a soft shimmer as the fabric moves.

The base cloth comes from Otsuka (Uroko mark), a renowned Tango weaving house in Kyoto founded in 1717, with more than 300 years of history producing some of Japan’s finest kimono base fabrics.

From the careful selection of silk threads to the traditional twisting and weaving techniques, generations of craftsmanship bring out the beauty of the fabric itself.
