潮が満ちるときに聞こえる波音や、
海岸に寄せては返す波の響きのこと。

単なる音ではなく

海の気配や自然の息づかいを感じさせる
情緒あふれる言葉として

古くから和歌や文学の世界で愛されてきました。

その美しい響きから
三島由紀夫の名作『潮騒』の題名にも用いられています。

美しく揺らぐ白の曲線は

水面を渡る風や
幾重にも重なる波紋のよう。

その上には

誉田屋源兵衛を代表する意匠のひとつ「破れ格子」を
銀彩で重ねています。

格子は本来
秩序や規律を象徴する伝統文様ですが

その整った形をあえて崩すことで
既成概念にとらわれない自由な精神や
新しい価値観への挑戦を表現しています。

The sound of waves carried by the tide.

Inspired by the gentle rhythm of waves rolling onto the shore, this yukata expresses the beauty of the sea through traditional shibori dyeing.

“Shiosai” refers to the sound and presence of the ocean—an evocative word long celebrated in Japanese poetry and literature, and famously used as the title of Yukio Mishima’s novel The Sound of Waves.

Flowing white patterns drift across a rich burgundy ground like ripples on water, while silver “Yabure Kōshi” (Broken Lattice) motifs add depth and brilliance.

Traditionally, lattice patterns symbolize order and structure. By intentionally disrupting the pattern, Yabure Kōshi represents freedom, individuality, and a spirit that challenges convention.
