稲妻には古くから特別な意味が込められてきました。

雷が鳴った後に雨が降り
稲が実ることから

「稲の妻」とも呼ばれ
豊作をもたらす吉祥文様として親しまれてきました。

また、中国古代の雷文に由来し

複雑に連なる形が
魔物を迷わせると考えられたことから
厄除けや魔除けの意味も。

さらに
天から降りる雷は神の力の象徴とされ

力強さや生命力
未来を切り開くエネルギーを表す文様として
武将や能装束にも用いられてきました。

A flash of lightning across the darkness.

Vivid neon yellow emerges from a deep sumi-black ground, accented with elegant gold lightning motifs.

Created using the traditional Kago Shibori technique, each piece develops a unique, one-of-a-kind pattern through the dyeing process.

In Japan, lightning has long symbolized abundance, protection, and divine power. Associated with nourishing rain, it was believed to bring a bountiful harvest, ward off evil spirits, and embody strength and vitality.

Bold yet refined, this striking yukata reflects Kondaya Genbei’s signature blend of tradition and modern artistry.
