Fine crepe ripples rise across white silk like waves,
and that texture itself becomes the pattern.

Over it, deep purple arabesques unfurl in generous curves,
and here and there, pale blue plum blossoms seem to gently unfold.

Each petal is made of countless tiny shibori bindings.
Applying wadashi shibori over such delicate crepe
is said to demand exceptional skill.

Touches of softly toned gold leaf rest along the arabesques,
and the subtle relief of handwork catches the light, casting tender shadows.
